Our mission is singular: To provide meaningful work for the physically and medically disabled.
Every staff member of the Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled is dedicated to the finest in production and service outcomes for the many clients and different types of jobs we perform. As a result, we save our clients money and valuable company resources. The MHW management, board of directors and clients greatly appreciates that commitment.

Each worker brings important skills to us. While most of our staff have individual specialized skills—such as working with power tools, sewing or the manual dexterity to work rapidly with small parts—the entire staff is “handy” and can easily shift from project to project. That said, we do take great care to assign only the most adept producers to each specific task, thus assuring the best possible job outcome at the lowest cost for our clients.
Most of our workers have been with us many years. In addition to the notable average tenure of more than 12 years, more than 20 percent of our employees have been with us more than 20 years. Our workshop hours are 7:30-4, Monday through Friday, but many staffers often arrive early, ready to tackle that day’s work for the MHW clientele.
All front-line workers receive benefits including health insurance, eight paid holidays, four paid personal days, three paid bereavement days for immediate family members, and one week of paid vacation during the first year of employment with two weeks paid vacation thereafter. MHW is proud to convey that we typically carry staff at full wages even during times of lighter work loads. Once an employee’s 90-day probationary period is over, health benefits are covered at 100 percent, with no individual contributions necessary.
Our mission is singular: To provide meaningful work for the physically and medically disabled. As a result, when new work orders permit, we seek to add to staff those dependable adults who meet the requirements of a particular job to be filled and who can provide recent documentation regarding their physical and/or medical disability.
We encourage recently separated (or other) disabled veterans to apply when positions are posted.
