Manufacturing

Manufacturing has a prominent role at the Mid-Hudson Work for the Disabled. As we work daily with a number of demanding clients, our skilled staff meets select quality control and precise tolerance standards on a variety of technical projects.
Today, every astute business requires an outsourcing ally to help it be more competitive, whatever your particular industry or market.

Custom Kitting

When the Roscoe Co. needed kitting of paint samples and related items for the theater, they chose MHW. We place paint into different one- to two-ounce sample containers, add tools, instructions, marketing/sales and other materials, then custom-kit them for distribution. The kits are used in the creation of theatrical scenery or backdrops and other projects.

Fabrication

Stamford Scientific International launched its aeration system business in the 1990s. Hoping to circumvent the need to establish and operate a factory, it reached out to MHW. The Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled was chosen to fabricate its complex PVC and air bubble diffuser systems from supplied blueprints. We have met our client’s stringent production standards for more than six years, and have shipped final system assemblies to Dubai and Mexico, among other countries, as well as throughout the U.S.

Assembly

Numerous, varied and highly-technical assembly jobs have a prominent place at the Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled. Our staff is adept at most mechanical & electrical sub-assemblies or final assemblies. We can provide assembly services for your custom products or next project, from purchasing all buyout items to complete assembly from your construction blueprints or other supplied materials. From prototyping to full production, MHW can assist with your most straightforward to the most complex assembly needs.

Riveting, bolting, machine-screwing, soldering, affixing gaskets, gear box assemblies, calibration, testing and many other tasks are satisfied by our skilled disabled workers using modern tooling and with most materials including, but not limited to: standard, stainless or galvanized steel, aluminum, wood, PVC and other plastics. Whether assembling and testing wiring harnesses, mainframe computer fans or LED Lighting systems, MHW will effectively manage your projects from start to finish. We’ll also work from your supplied materials or cost-consciously obtain the required raw materials to fabricate and assemble from.

Assembly services are provided for customers in variety of industries including computer, aeronautical, automotive, hunting, electrical, aeration, furniture and other areas. Virtually no assembly project is too small or large for MHW to accommodate. And, as the accrued cost savings when working with us can be substantial, it is important to note that companies across the U.S. can capitalize on MHW services. This opportunity is possible as in many cases shipping expenses pale in comparison to the savings we afford.

Cleaning

IBM, our partner since our 1948 inception, requires the specialized cleaning of custom-made silicon water, tooling and other expensive protective cases and carriers.  The Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled provides for the tedious, labor-intensive, multi-step cleansing of these items. MHW also expertly reconditions thousands of IBM silicon chip trays and silicon wafer frames each year, cleaning/sanitizing and repackaging them for re-use.

Turnkey

Laerdal Medical reached out to the Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled to handle fulfillment for educational medical kits. Laerdal provides MHW with individual components for each type of specialized kit it markets. MHW staff constructs each type of kit with appropriate DVD instructions, marketing and other materials, and then boxes and shrink-wraps them. Wholesale, retail and various group orders are then logged, assembled, fulfilled and shipped daily. When product updates, expired components, new labeling and other alterations become necessary, MHW reconstitutes each affected kit, ensuring each contains the most up-to-date material. Quick changes, modifications and specialty needs are the forte of the Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled.

MHW offers all its clients unconditional guarantees, since we know we can meet or exceed all your company standards.

Prototype Production

Hunterology came to MHW with a patent for a hunting blind that attaches to compound bows. The company needed to have the new product manufactured in a cost-effective manner. We provided skilled workers to fulfill the complex, multi-step production and packaging, and we contributed to the evolution and ultimate advancement of the original prototypes.
