We offer a variety of outsourcing services at the Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled so we can assist your business in many ways. Our skilled staff, numerous facility amenities and the comprehensive detailed approach we provide for every client, gives us the ability to coordinate your project from start to finish … or to assist with individual logistical components.
Warehousing
Our facility, in Poughkeepsie, NY, has more than 52,000 square feet of production and warehousing space. If you require space to house product components for sales processing, fulfillment and shipping, we can easily accommodate those storage requirements. Most of the clients of the Mid-Hudson Workshop require easy access to their wares, and we’re pleased to accommodate them.
Inventory
MHW maintains the staffing and necessary tools & techniques to accurately provide for almost any firm’s custom inventory needs. In some cases, clients will recommend their preferred systems for the taking of inventory and as a result will provide MHW with the specific electronic or mechanical means to accomplish the task for them. Laerdal Medical has counted on MHW inventory control for their various medical training kits and other educational products for more than six years.
Product Testing
Detailed testing of lighting products has been performed for two firms by the Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled. KDI-Paragon and Eran Lighting required us to conduct a range of testing levels on various light fixtures our staff soldered, then electrically and mechanically assembled for product completion. MHW’s output regularly met or exceeded the clients’ precise tolerances as verified via our thorough testing. Both companies regularly test our work, which always gets excellent results.
Packaging
The Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled can provide custom product packaging. Our years of experience with varied packaging tasks give us an edge when selecting the right parts and components, providing for shrink-wrapping and unusual container sizing, or other client-specific needs. MHW can readily accommodate most precise packaging needs. For the TickleMe Plant Co., we package single and multiple unit specialty plants.
Order Processing
Whether you sell 1 or 1,000 daily units, the Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled will cost-effectively process your orders. We can receive sales orders via fax or digitally. The Naked Earth Co. has relied on the Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled for its complex order processing for almost 15 years.
Shipping
Whether your goods are going around the corner or around the world, the Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled will ship your products with the care, timeliness and cost-effectiveness our clients expect. We can work with your existing shippers and accounts or you can use ours. Boxes, containers or other needs can be provided by you or by us. Our shipping experience ranges from customized packaging and special handling, as we provide for Hunterology, to custom pallet construction units to ship aeration systems to Dubai and Mexico for Stamford Scientific International.
Data Entry
For many years, IBM’s East Fishkill, NY, operation outsourced accounts payable needs to the Mid-Hudson Workshop for the Disabled. We assigned six to eight employees to the client’s needs. Our staff can accommodate most any data-entry tasks. If necessary, we will add specialized equipment to handle your projects.
Labeling/Re-Labeling
The MHW works with two clients on labeling projects. For the Stephen Gould Corp., we place pressure-sensitive labels on two sides of a plastic bottle and, in many instances, we remove outdated materials to affix revised labeling on packages, cards and bottling. The Naked Earth Co., has also required us to re-label its all-natural hair coloring products, as revised promotional materials became available.
Expediting/Trafficking
MHW has extensive experience with expediting. For many years, we satisfied IBM’s expediting needs. The five staffers assigned to the job were in daily contact with more than 100 IBM vendors/suppliers to monitor logistics for thousands of parts and product orders nationally and internationally. Detailed record keeping is another integral component of this work. We can also coordinate trafficking needs.
Bulk Mailing
MHW can coordinate bulk mailings via ZIP code or special drop-ship zone. On a regular basis we handle mailings for Dutchess County’s Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Hyde Park Police Department, and others.
